What is acupuncture?

This technique involves the insertion of extremely thin, disposable needles, just under the skin’s surface. Though one might experience a slight heaviness or dullness at the point where each needle is inserted, acupuncture does not hurt and often patients will fall asleep during treatment due to its relaxing effects.

The philosophy of Chinese Medicine is based on the flow of “Qi” (energy) through 12 major meridians throughout the body. When this energy becomes blocked or stagnant in our body, imbalances arise which may lead to disease. The goal is to restore and maintain optimal functioning by targeting various acupuncture points that stimulate the central nervous system as well as the pituitary and hypothalamus glands, both of which regulate hormones and other biochemicals within the body.

What is herbal medicine?

Traditional Chinese Medicine has one of the oldest and most complex understandings of herbal formulas in recorded history. Herbs can treat acute disorders (cold or flu for instance) and well as chronic conditions (such allergies, viral disorders, and autoimmune issues).

Danielle combines her knowledge of herbs indigenous to North America with her extensive training with Chinese herbs to determine the most effective and safest combination of remedies for each patient, based on his or her individual needs.
